Differences etween Negative and Positive Corona Discharge Fed by CO2 in Ozone Production

The efficiency of ozone generation in DC corona discharge fed by carbon dioxide has been studied. A simple coaxial system of electrodes has been used for generation of both negative and positive corona discharge in flowing gas. The ozone concentration has been measured on the outlet of the reactor by UV absorption spectroscopy methods. Ozone generation in the negative corona discharge was found to be more efficient than in positive corona.
